The development at 56 Wattle Avenue Werribee consists of the demolition and alteration to an existing dwelling, along with the construction of an additional 23 double and triple storey dwellings.

This development included taking into consideration the heritage overlay pertaining to the existing building being a large Edwardian timber house. The changes to the existing dwelling do not relate to the major historical association of the building, relating more to areas that had previously been altered. The house remains a key element of the development, whilst the new rear sections have no visual presence from Wattle Avenue.

The new double and triple storey dwellings are in keeping with the surrounding area and neighbourhood character.

The area surrounding this development includes a range of single and double storey buildings, covering a range of architectural forms, although many have been constructed in recent decades.

This development included the removal of the rear of the existing building along with outbuildings. The existing dwelling has been completed with a simple single storey form containing the living area, amenities facilities and a double garage.

Five different floor plans have been featured throughout the development, including double and triple storey layouts. The new dwellings feature a mixture of render, zinc cladding and linea boards.
